Cameron was a playful 5 year old who loved to play outside. Every day at Kindergarten, he would enjoy recess. When he wasn't at kindergarten, he would run around in the woods or in the fields. He also loved playing with toys and, despite being a human, he loved playing fetch. His brother, Timmy, would throw a Frisbee or a tennis ball, and Cameron would run after it. He would grab it, and then run it back to his brother. He became well known for this at his school as well. The other students began to play fetch with Cam. Despite some of the teasing he'd get, nothing excited him more than playing fetch. One day, his mother decided to get a pet dog. So, she got a German Shepherd puppy and named him Brad. Cam and Brad became instant best friends. In fact, they were pretty much inseparable. Then again, it helped that they had a lot in common with each other. They both loved to play fetch, they loved to run around for no apparent reason, and they would get very excited when they would play tag with each other.

One day after school, Cameron and Brad went to the park and began to play tag with each other. Cameron was running from Brad when he fell and started to cry, because that's what 5 year olds do when they fall. Brad ran up to him and licked his scrapes. Then, another puppy came running up. Then, a fox puppy came running over, followed closely by a border-collie puppy. By the time the different puppies finished crowding around Cameron to see if he was okay, there were about 10 puppies not including Brad. Brad spoke up and said, "Are you okay buddy?"

Cameron said through sniffles, "Yeah, *sniff* that hurt though, falling like that." Brad laughed and said, "Yeah, I'm sure it did." Cameron then looked at the other puppies and asked, "What are they doing here?" The fox puppy replied, "Hi buddy! I'm Tod! We hear you're very dog like!" Brad asked, "What do you mean by that?" The border collie puppy said, "Well, like the rest of us, you like to play fetch and do all the other games we like." Brad answered, "Yeah. I do! It's fun!"

The others laughed. Then Brad said, "How would you like to be one of us for real?" Cameron asked, "What do you mean by that?" Brad responded, "Well, how would you like to become a puppy like us?" Cameron jumped up excitedly and said, "You can make me a puppy?" Tod said, "Well, not us, but Wolfie's mom can!" The wolf puppy he was referring to looked over, "What? Oh yeah! She can. You want to?" Cameron said, "Well, last one to your mom's house is a rotten bone!" The others responded, "You're on!"

Wolfie won the race with Cameron coming in second and Brad in third place. Wolfie's mom looked back at them as she was just preparing spaghetti and meatballs. She said, "Oh, who have you brought here, Wolfie?" Wolfie grabbed a glass of milk and said, "Mommy! This is my buddy Cameron. He wants to be a puppy like us." Wolfie's mom asked Cameron, "Oh? And what makes you want to be a puppy like these puppies?" Cameron said, "Because I want to be just like my best friend, Brad." He winked at Brad who winked back. Wolfie's mom laughed as she gave them cookies and a glass of lemonade. She then asked, "How'd you get to know him, Wolfie?" Wolfie said, "Well, I'm friends with Brad, and he told me about Cameron. He and Cameron were playing, and I decided to go play with them too. He's a really cool friend." Wolfie's mom then gave Cameron another glass of lemonade and said, "Drink this special lemonade, and you'll become a puppy too."

Cameron drank the lemonade, and immediately, he began to feel funny. He felt his stomach churn a bit, but not as if he were sick. It was more of that excited feeling you get in your stomach where you can hardly control how happy you really are. He saw his belly become covered with fur, and the fur began to spread to the rest of his body. His face began to change into more of a dog-like face. His back began to spawn a tail, and his ears changed into a German-shepherd pair of ears. He looked in the mirror and realized that, while he could still talk like a human, could walk like a person as well as like a dog, and eat the food that people normally eat safely, like chocolate, he was still an anthro-dog. He was an anthro-German Shepherd puppy to be exact. He and Brad later left Wolfie's house, and ran to his house. His mom was, much to Cameron's surprise, was hardly shocked at Cameron being a dog now. The only thing she did ask was how he became a dog. He told her what happened, and she thought it was cute that he finally had good friends. The next day, he went to school, and it was like everyone had already known he was a dog. Then again, he was the most dog-like of anyone. Everyday after school, he'd go to Wolfie's house to play, or sometimes he'd visit Tod's house.

As he got older, so did his friends. By the time he was in high school, he was quite popular among his human friends, but his puppy friends were still his best friends. They remained best friends for the remainder of their days.
